Or Shalom Daycare

The Or Shalom Daycare offers the 80 children who attend it a haven of peace, learning and socialization. Our classes are small groups, which lets our many qualified educators give each child all the attention and guidance they need. Their specialized training allows them to guide, educate and teach while adapting, of course, to each young child’s stage of development.

The many activities and guided outings, both playful and educational, are planned and organized to develop creativity, imagination, concentration and artistic sense. Children are introduced to the alphabet, numbers, words and reading in French, English and Hebrew. Physical activities and a modern private playground are also part of the educational program.

Lunch and the two (kosher) snacks served each day are planned with a caterer, with the best possible nutritional balance in mind.

Great attention is paid to the cleanliness of the premises, hygiene, and the use and cleaning of toys. Likewise, the daycare’s management works constantly to build and maintain the most attentive relationship with parents, so they are kept informed of everything in their child’s development.

A daycare can never replace parents, of course, but at Or Shalom we strive to encourage socialization and to surround the children with as much love, attention and patience as possible.

• The Or Shalom Daycare was founded in 2009 by a group of people whose vision was to help the Dollard-des-Ormeaux community. It belongs to the Sephardic Association of the West Island of Montreal (ASBOM) and is governed by a volunteer board of directors. The daycare has been directed by Mrs. Nancy Fhima since August 2011.
• The daycare has 15 spots for infants from 0 to 17 months and 65 spots for children from 18 to 48 months.
• It is located in one of the loveliest neighbourhoods of Westpark, in Dollard-des-Ormeaux.
• Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 6 PM.
