More than a synagogue, a vibrant community. Since 1977, the Sephardic Association of the West Island of Montreal has welcomed a young, committed community at its Assouline Community Centre.
Founded in 1977, the Sephardic Association of the West Island of Montreal (A.S.B.O.M.) serves, through the Or Shalom Synagogue, the Assouline Community Centre and the Or Shalom Daycare, a young and dynamic community involved in our programs all year round. For several years now it has been welcoming young families into its new building, completed in 2009.
Three minyanim every weekday, Shabbat and holidays in the Ouaknine-Ohayon sanctuary, in the Moroccan Sephardic liturgy — traditional and modern at once.

I am very happy and very proud to lead our wonderful Or Shalom community. In recent years many young families have settled in DDO: it is for them that we are here, to teach and pass on our knowledge and our values through our prayers and our activities throughout the year.
